Firmware upgrade for MDC1200 for a TK-7180

Does anyone have the detailed instructions for performing the firmware upgrade for MDC-1200 on a TK-7180H/8180H. Also the programing instructions would be helpful.

From within the programming software you must enable firmware programming.

Once you write that feature change to the radio you need to power down the radio and power it up while holding down the correct firmware programming key, the 180 series mobile key escapes me at the moment. This will put the radio in the firemware programming mode. On the radio display the correct port speed will show.

You need to launch the "Fpro" application from the KPG89 directory. Once launched you need to locate the firrmware file on your PC. Then set correct com port and baud rate. Make note of the checksum value as you should verify this against the radio when the update is completed.

You must hold the s button down then power up the radio. That will get you into firmware mode.

[Elighting]

You must also have the newest software too. I upgraded my TK-2180 and it wasn't hard at all. F1FF is the correct/current firmware, in case you didn't know.
