9653 is an LTR 800 Mhz Viking radio. I would need the last 3 digits to tell you more.

The 9883-503 is a high power(35w) 800Mhz Smartnet and/or Smartzone radio.

Both of these are no longer supported.

Picked up a mobile at Dayton this weekend. Cannot find much info on the net other than high tier Intruder UHF LTR-Net and Multi-Net along with conventional. This is my first EFJ so any help would be appreciated pointing me in the right direction on how to get started. I powered it up and nothing lights up but the display says E.F.J. V201 and it does nothing else. Is it just blank? Is there a test mode I can use to validate TX/RX until I figure out what I need to program it? PM only please since this is decode request only. I will post separate help thread in main area for public responses. (better for helping everyone later who are using search)

Model for feature decode is: 242-9843-232

Thanks.

Hi All.

I have 2 legacy 5100 VHF. 242-5113-310-gf.

I dug through the archives and these were described as legacy radios, which is fine as they weren't that expensive.

I wanted to know if the legacy controllers supported DES in the DSP? reading the options in 1.24.00 and 1.31.1 shows identical responses, DES in one and nothing in the other. Is this possible or is this a file format conflict?

There doesn't appear to be a UCM connector or a SEM on either board. Rev number on the boards is 100.07.

What firmware can these be lifted to and will the rev available work with 1.24.0 or 1.31.1?

Thanks, Will

Will,

Those are the series 1 radios. The encryption was software based and will support DES/DES-OFB, but NOT AES. There are no connectors to support the addition of the MOT UCM (that was the series 2 and 3). These radios are not FIPS certified if it means anything to you.
The last release for these is 1.18.15 and requires PCC 1.28.0.8

I would like to know the details of the following model number:

242-5318-201AAAB4

If it helps, the s/n is:

5318H5005T38599

I know this is a remote mount, VHF. I would particularly like to know if it is narrow band (12.5 kHz) capable.

Many thanks.
